Gravitational Fields is a study in which an intersection between scientific chaos theories, institutional and individual systems of order is sought. It consists of 64 drawings on paper.

The drawings are based on a drawing that LAO has been conducting at regular intervals since 2021 with the oracle Book I-Ching, Book of Changes. The drawing is projected onto a mathematically calculated Yi globe in virtual space.

The I-Ching consists of a collection of 64 hexagrams to which Taoist teachings have been assigned. They originated in the third millennium BC, were first translated into German in 1924 and since then have repeatedly provided Western scientists with approaches to link the system with Euclidean geometry, applied mathematics or quantum physics.

The series of images seeks a visual representation of a link between chance, a system of rules and order.
