a fool for loops

In the solo show at Gr_und in Berlin, the viewer was invited to step into the observatories‘ visual research on chaos, coincidence and systems of order linked to astrophysics, math and philosophy. The pivot center of the works lies somewhere in a subconscious visual understanding of complexity. A series of 64 hand-drawn graphs visualize regular I Ching readings of the Taoist Book of Changes.

Can order be brought into a seemingly coincidental, chaotic assembly of events? How does the construction of a system influence its outcome? LAO‘s experimental setups are believed to be successful when the number of questions generated outweighs the number of answers. It could be referenced as reflections on modulo symmetric operations or an operation created for a fool for loops.
